PHRF Racing
This series is open to any boat at least 24 feet LOA with a current and valid PHRF-NE rating.
Wednesday Night PHRF races are a "fun" series designed to get sailors out on the water improving racing skills, hosted by Nantucket Yacht Club. Races are open to anyone in the community. There is no charge to race, but registration is required. Prizes will be awarded weekly and to the top five overall for the series.
Each evening is generally two races, one lap around a windward/leeward course of about 1 nautical mile. The start area, depending on conditions, is 1 nautical mile northeast or northwest of the entrance to Nantucket Harbor. First signal is at 1800 (6:00PM), so plan to leave the harbor by 1700 (5:00 PM.) Generally, we will be finished by dusk and back in the harbor between 7:30-8PM. It is highly recommended that sailors have running lights, a lantern and a GPS on board in the event of fog or dark.
