The Nantucket Yacht Club is located on a beautiful historic island 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod. With the Clubhouse situated on the harbor, it provides a unique work environment. The Club's facilities include a fine dining restaurant, snack bar, casual & buffet dining, sailing center, waterfront launch, junior yacht club, and tennis courts. We are a seasonal employer offering positions from June - October.

Terms/Conditions of Employment
Positions are available from early June through September (short season) or October (long season).
Applicant must enjoy working with and around people and must possess a strong work ethic and bring enthusiasm to the workplace. The NYC is a dedicated service-oriented organization providing a home-away-from-home atmosphere for its membership. Training is provided for most positions listed. Some positions have a minimum age requirement of 18 years. Please be certain to read and fill out the Club's Employment Application completely and provide specific dates available and last working day. The ability to work in July and August is required of most positions. The ability to work through Labor Day (9/5/22) is required of most restaurant and serving positions.

Server Information
Our Program: The Nantucket Yacht Club is a 110 year old private club located on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. It is a very seasonal (summer) resort island located 30 miles off the southern coast of Cape Cod. The Club staffs around 20 servers each year. Our team members learn to plan, set up, execute, manage, and work daily Clubhouse operations. The position is hands-on and you will have the opportunity to learn skills in fine dining, wine service, custom cocktails, special events, casual and quick service, POS systems, and basic bartending. Commitment to the entire season (without other vacations/obligations) is required. The ability to work through Labor Day (9/5/22) is required of most positions.
Benefits include:
Meals: 21 meals per week (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily)
Housing: Dormitory-style housing in Town ($750 per month value), priced at $35 per week fee, withdrawn automatically from pay. Dorm living includes 2-3 people per room with shared bathrooms. The Club provides sheets, towel, washcloth, blanket, and pillow at no cost.
Hourly Pay: Hourly wages begin at $12.75/hour.
Gratuity: Club members do not pay gratuity for normal services. Gratuity is only paid during private events, such as weddings.
Bonus: The Club provides an end-of-season bonus, provided your contract is fulfilled.
Specifications: Full time staff needed from May 31 - October 11.
Junior Yacht Club Counselor
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
As a JYC Counselor, you will be an active participant in all JYC activities and will assist the Director with a variety of tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable experience for elementary-aged Club juniors. Our JYC Counselors interact with all Club juniors, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a JYC Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
COUNSELOR QUALITIES
• Ability to work with children to grow in character, experiences and insights
• Guarding the health and well-being of Club juniors
• Prior experience working with children
• Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, and Flexible
• CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
COUNSELOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Club juniors and provide a fun, summer experience
Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Director
Greet families and juniors upon arrival
Supervise arts and crafts activities
Play games and engage with children
Help plan and assist with field trips around the island
Participate in all JYC activities including JYC Family Nights
* The program will run from June 27, 2022 to August 18, 2022 - staff members must be available to work the full season.
